Abhay, Dino and Ritesh in ‘Dostana 2’ :Karan



‘Dostana 2’ will be co-produced by Karan Johar and UTV and will have two new gay characters. Buzz has it that Abhay Deol, Dino Morea and Ritesh Deshmuk are being considered to play the two new characters. Katrina Kaif will be replacing Priyanka Chopra in the ‘Dostana’ franchise.

Discussing the new star cast in the film, the source said, “Let`s see what happens. The final selection has boiled down to Abhay, Dino and Ritesh.”

Reconciliation seems to be the newest flavor of the season. Karan Johar and filmmaker Tarun Mansukhani, who had creative differences between them over the filming of a sequel to ‘Dostana’ have now made amends. The film starring Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham is all set to go on floors this year end.

While talking to a tabloid, a source revealed, “The film had run into a bit of trouble, owing to the creative differences between the producer Karan Johar and director Tarun Mansukhani. But now, Karan and Tarun are on the same page.”

Reportedly, KJo and Tarun had a spat with his director over the second part of the film. . “While Karan has now approved of the first part, Tarun is almost done with the second part and Karan is very happy with the way it is going. Shooting starts by November or December this year,” added the source.

Deol's Road to Tokyo

ROAD, MOVIE, was also recently in news for a landmark deal where the International sales agent, Fortissimo Films, shook hands with TIFC to represent the film outside of the Indian territories . The deal marked Fortissimo’s first foray into a Hindi language film.

TIFC has announced today that ROAD, MOVIE, has been invited to the Tokyo International Film Festival 2009 and will vie for the coveted ‘Tokyo Sakura Grand Prix’.

ROAD, MOVIE, presented by Indian Films in association with Studio 18, will be screened as part of Competition section at TOHO Cinemas at Roppongi Hills on 21sr October and 23rd October 2009.

ROAD, MOVIE is written and directed by Dev Benegal, whose first feature presentation ENGLISH, AUGUST was hailed as a landmark in contemporary Indian cinema and had ignited a wave of independent Indian filmmakers. His second feature presentation Split Wide Open premiered at the Venice International Film Festival.

ROAD, MOVIE is about Vishnu, a restless young man, who rejects his father's faltering hair oil business and hits the road with a travelling cinema. Colourful and full of unforgettable characters, ROAD, MOVIE celebrates India's open road and the pure love of movies.
