Genelia and John marriege has finally been negated

The much-hyped story about Genelia D'Souza and John Abraham getting married has finally been negated. And the man responsible for spreading the vile rumour, a pandit named Bhagwat Guruji, who was recently quoted in the media about John and Genelia’s supposed marriage has finally been proven a liar.

The wedding scene in question was shot in Malshej Ghaat a few months ago and in the exact same manner that such scenes have always been shot for the big screen in the past. Sources close to the film reveal that the wedding sequence was not shot in tandem and that a bevy of makeup artists and stylists helped John and Genelia with wearing the ‘mangalsutra’ and garlands.

Producer Vipul Shah is furious that his lead actress is in the middle of a fake controversy. He says, “Countless number of weddings have been performed in Hindi cinema but this is the first time that I have come across someone so keen to be in the limelight that he can go far enough to claim to have married Genelia D'Souza off! I don't hold anything against Pandit Bhagwat Guruji but will not let anyone point fingers at the leading lady of my film in this manner. He is only looking out for his ‘15 minutes of fame’ without any real standing. The whole incident is bizarrely shocking and there is no truth to it at all. Any such claims should be dismissed as a desperate attempt to gain attention."

On behalf of Genelia D'souza, her spokesperson states, “The bizarreness of the pandit’s claims is astounding. It is extremely unfortunate that someone would try to take advantage of just being in the same scene as Genelia D’Souza in this manner. This truly is an eccentric attempt to grab the headlines.”

Genelia’s Ranked Second of ad world

Genelia isn’t counted in the ranks of Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor or Katrina Kaif, but she still has more brand endorsements in her kitty than any of the Bollywood leading ladies.

With about 9-11 endorsement deals; Genelia has undoubtedly become the favorite face amongst Indian advertisers. And the girl is all kicked about the fact that she adorns the TV screens in every commercial break. “I feel happy that people don’t get bored seeing my face so often on TV,” she jokes and adds, “Shooting for these ads give me a great high. The concepts and creativity make it super fun.”

We further ask Genelia what makes her click with the advertisers? “I think it’s my girl next door image. The brands I endorse are targeted towards the youth and it’s due to my bubbly nature that the youth can relate to me better than other actresses.”

Interestingly, the only other Bollywood face that’s such a regular when it comes to advertisements is Shah Rukh Khan who endorses products right from pens and talcum powder to hair oil and underwear. And with her endorsement line-up, Genelia seems all geared up to match up Shah Rukh.

Genelia D’Souza love to work with the Khans

Genelia D’Souza achieved overnight stardom and became a teen idol for young lovers. Yet, in spite of the heady success of ‘Jaane Tu…’, Genelia has almost disappeared from the silver screen.

Talking to a news daily, when enquired whether she is waiting for any big banner, the petite actress said, “What’s the definition of a big banner? I have worked with UTV, Studio 18, Aamir Khan Productions, done films in the South, and I have four releases this year. There’s one opposite Fardeen Khan, ‘It’s My Life’ opposite Hurman Baweja, ‘Hook Ya Crook’ with John Abraham and ‘Yahoo’ with Shahid Kapoor.

Nevertheless, the dainty actress is currently in Mumbai after enjoying a delightful break from down South, a place where Genelia enjoys a superstar status in comparison to Bollywood. Enjoying the Mumbai showers at the Bandra-Worli Sealink, Genelia said “It’s been five years since I played football in the rains. Do you know I was a national level football player in college.
