Akshay more action with Rowdy Rathore

Now Akshay Kumar is learning traditional combat karate for his role in `Rowdy Rathore`. He is a black belt in Taekwondo.

The 43-year-old actor, who is extremely fitness conscious, will soon be heading to an undisclosed location for two months to train in this form of martial art.

Directed by Prabhudeva, produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ronnie Screwvala and co-produced by designer Shabinaa Khan, the film has Sonakshi Sinha opposite Akshay.

"The movie will introduce to audiences a new kind of sport and being the professional that he is, Akshay has decided to take two months off to train intensively in combat karate," said a source.

"Set in the rustic heartland of the country, the film has a lot of action and required a star who knew the technical know-hows of his dangerous sport. Akshay seemed the perfect fit since being a trained martial arts professional he could pull the role off with panache," the source added.

Akshay Kumar is a big fan of Bollywood Cenema

Akshay Kumar may not be the biggest Bollywood actor In comparison to the Khans and bachhans , but the action star is a huge fan of Indian cinema ever since he was just a nondescript person, working as a cook in Bangkok.

“Akshay has been collecting these posters for years and has built himself a sizeable collection. In ‘Action Replay’, Akshay plays the owner of a coffee house and when the set was being planned, director Vipul Shah mentioned that he wanted it to be a Bollywood themed café. They were searching for suitable posters but were getting only cheesy ones from the market.”

“That’s when Akshay Kumar revealed that he had many good posters in his personal collection but was in two minds about bringing them out of his house because he was afraid they would get damaged or lost. When Vipul took personal responsibility for them and assured Akshay that he would make sure each and every one of them was handed back after the shoot, Akshay took him home and let him choose from his collection. Vipul then handpicked some posters,” said the source.

When enquired the director, Vipul Shah said, “We were not getting good posters and the problem kept cropping up in production meetings. We had absolutely no clue that Akshay had such a collection — it was a pleasant surprise.”

Akshay Refused his Award............

After all the drama and exchange of annoyance that took place on stage at the award ceremony on Wednesday night, it was Akshay Kumar, who saved the show with his kindheartedness. The actor took many by surprise when he refused to accept ‘The Most Popular Actor’ award saying that not him, but Aamir Khan deserved the award for his work in Ghajini.

Our sources say, “Akshay Kumar saw Ghajini in New York when he was there for the premiere of Chandni Chowk to China and was floored by Aamir’s performance and effort. On his return to India from London, Akshay saw Singh Is Kinng in the flight and thought that Aamir’s effort was far more commendable.

Receiving the award Akshay said, “I feel humble that I have won the award for ‘The Most Popular Actor’. I have waited for this award since a long time. However, I recently saw Ghajini and thought that Aamir deserves this award more. I know that Aamir does not accept awards, but I want him to accept this as a symbol of love that people have for him. I want him to enjoy the award as much as I would have done.”
